My recent visit to ward 68 in the Southern General was exceptional. My BP remained within acceptable limits(just) and the treatment was speedily administered. No more speedily than on other occasions, but given the amount of banter in the ward, it seemed to be quicker than usual.
Banter is always present. Nursing staff are well versed in keeping the spirits of their charges and of each other up. Knowing them all so well, even although I only visit twice a year, is heart-warming. As one patient said,it’s like coming home to spend time in ward 68.
Home, a peaceful place, a place to feel at ease and comfortable. This home from home is the creation of dedicated staff who know their jobs well and despite the pressures placed upon them by the overall administration, always seek to offer the best for each and everyone in their caring hands.
