I’ve been back on two wheels again, cycling the roads around home. Yesterday was too hot to cycle, in fact it was TOO hot to DO almost anything! Today there’s a breeze, a very welcome one to accompany the sunshine, a day to get out and about without feeling drained.
With rucksack on my back, water, a snack, a phone and camera inside, I set off with my trusty bike and helmet to wend my way along the shore road towards Garelochhead.
In recent years, I’ve attempted to cycle further by building my fitness levels and losing a bit of weight. This year I’ve changed my strategy somewhat. I don’t push myself so hard to cycle quickly, but saunter along at an easy pace. It seems to work better, and makes the enjoyment of the exercise so much more. Slow and easy instead of rushing at speed. You still get from A to B, and perhaps with a bit less stress. So the plan is set. I’ll try to cycle daily and keep the momentum going.
PS I’ve added a page to my blog which will record my cycling trips!
