Today I revisited the Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum.
The Glasgow Boys have an excellent exhibition area on the groundfloor level, which drew my interest as it always does. I spent an hour or so looking at pictures by many of the boys and admired most particularly the works of E A Hornel and George Henry. A short journal entry was followed by drawing a simple sketch of the above picture. Japanese painting is another of my loves, and my recent interest in the works of Hiroshige and Hokusai has encouraged me to work specifically in black and white, with very pleasing results.

Following a wee bite to eat entertained by the usual organ recital, I headed for my walk for today, a three mile hike up and down Byres Road with an occasional stop in many of the charity shops en route{with one or two purchases} then an obligatory stop and shop in one of my favourite wool shops near the bus station.Well I do have winter coming on and have very little in my wool store!!!! Hats are going to be produced so be warned friends and relatives!!! Christmas is coming!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my day, and am already looking forward to next Thursday’s trip to Edinburgh and my all time favourite gallery, The Scottish Portrait Gallery. Thursdays are Arty Farty days and it won’t be long till I’m catching up with my pals as we return to our Autumn Art Class! YIPPEE!!!!!
