Moffat with a chill factor

By

Today we headed south to meet Dougie and his boys. We packed a picnic hoping to enjoy it outside in the sun. Instead, we gittered inside cars munching to keep warm. It was to say the least, a bit CHILLY, although two boys and Dougie ventured onto the water in a swan and lasted the full 20 minute time slot. Before they returned to terra firma, Joan, Marsh and I had escaped back to the warmth of the car to await them. We headed further south to Gretna, but found it even CHILLIER, so despite the encouragements to stay around and explore the outlets in detail, we had a quick flit round, then made our farewells and headed back north to relative warmth.

It was lovely to see all the boys, and spend time with them. They are growing up so quickly and beginning to tower over us. We are determined to make a point of seeing them more frequently in the future.

It’s been a busy old week one way or another. Tomorrow we meet Hazel in Glasgow, then on Tuesday we begin to prepare for our return home on Wednesday or Thursday. Time has flown. Tuesday sees the start of May, but sadly no summer sun to accompany it thus far. The shorts and cropped trousers remain on hangers, and will return home without being worn!

I wonder who is steering this swan? The drivers seem to be facing the wrong way sharing a joke with dad in the back!

Hope there’s not another swan swimming nearby!!
