Town time again??!

My third consecutive visit to Glasgow in as many days. Just imagine what I could do when I eventually get my bus pass! It certainly beats driving!!

I had lunch with mum, helped sort out her phone and am now in one of my all time favourite places surfing. This is my first visit to the Mitchell this year. I love to come here to search out bits and pieces of genealogy research, but I do love being in a library that serves people so well.

In these austere times, it makes sense to use the free facilities that are available, so I’m enjoying fast free Internet and having a nice cuppa to go with it.

I’m sitting in the library cafe opposite the Mitchell Theatre, a place I frequented in my theatre days. Indeed I can remember the small satellite theatre to the Kings opening quite a number of years ago. As I passed its big sister theatre, I noted that The Steamie has had its tour extended. Maybe I’ll make a visit after all. It’s a great show, one that will be most enjoyable seen live.

Live entertainment is always unbeatable, and street artists are always there to bring smiles to the general gloom surrounding our country at the moment. Saturday is a good day to see buskers. I captured this character on Sauchiehall Street an hour or so ago.

The Earl Grey is almost finished and the piece of shortbread to accompany it was a delight in lightness. Suitable refreshed, I’ll now wander along towards Kelvingrove to hop on a different bus home. The joys of having a bus pass!!!!
