Sunshine with snow forecast

By

We’re halfway through April. It’s meant to be spring and yet snow and gales are forecast for this coming week. We’re used to this erratic behaviour and have a range of appropriate clothing to wear. Maybe packing the shorts for our ‘town trip’ was NOT a good idea!! We’ll see!!

Already our diary for the weeks ahead is filling up. Being in town is so much easier, especially when it comes to meeting up with friends. Letting the bus or train take the strain is also a huge bonus, one we enjoy thoroughly. It may take longer than driving, but it certainly allows better enjoyment of the route. Last year I remember enjoying the view from the top deck, especially when the route went through so many architecturally interesting streets. This year I will manage the stairs better, given my sustained weight loss. Might not manage them two at a time as I used to in my youth, but I’ll try!
We are so lucky that many of the interesting museums in Glasgow have free entry. I plan to visit many of them and experience the best of what the city of today has to offer.
The People’s Palace, Kelvingrove, The Scottish Police Museum, Transport Museum, Scotland Street, The Necropolis, Glasgow Cathedral and Queen’s Cross Church are all on my list of places to visit. I’ll no doubt have a wee trip to the Mitchell Library and maybe find my way to The Tenement House. Lots to see. Lots to do. Can’t wait to begin!!!
