My grandpa Aitken served in The Cameronians ( Scottish Rifles) during the first world war. I’m sure he took me to the monument in Kelvingrove and also to the Museum at Hamilton when I was young.
When we’re up in town for the next few weeks, I hope to visit the museum and perhaps gain a bit more information about his time served with the regiment.
I plan to buy a weekly bus pass, and hope to travel as far as Hamilton with it, which will make quite a change from driving the distance myself.
For to prepare for January 2014 when my ‘REAL’ bus pass can be used- unless that like everything pension-age related is gobbled up by government!!
