Snow is following us!

So here we are established in our retreat space for another year, and here comes the snow!
Temperatures are falling, but blue skies prevail as sunshine retains control.
It’s a day for a walk and a visit to our favourite cafe in Glencoe, after an hour or so with my favourite chef, James Martin. Saturday would not be the same without James.

Last Saturday we were in Hull, and by this time had been into town on the bus with Thomas to exchange a router that was malfunctioning. It was absolutely FREEZING- minus 12 and dropping, so after collecting the new router we headed for our favourite cafe for breakfast. Tom did make us laugh. He ate Joan’s sausage then began to wire into mine. When we were almost ready to go I suggested putting the remaining pieces of sausage into a napkin for Dougal. Tom looked at me and answered by deftly scooping the remaining sausage into his mouth. Too good for Dougal his expressive eyes said.
On arrival back in Plane Street, there was no time to check in with James. An hour or so with the router eventually returned our wi-fi to its usable state and then it was a mad rush to laptops and iPad for a catch up on the net session.

Today we’re catching up. Saturday Kitchen will be followed by a lazy lunch and then an afternoon spin out to Glencoe.
Our energy levels are returning, the head colds are disappearing and we’re looking forward to getting out and about on foot as well as by car to explore old haunts. The cycle path from Benderloch appears to have been completed into Oban and in the other direction to Fort William. We hope to walk parts of it with the boy over the next two weeks to encourage a bit of weight loss as we begin to embrace the WW way of life again!
