Shake Rattle and Roll

By

We left to go south between blasts and returned before the onset of yet another one. To say that winter is different this year is putting it mildly. Temperatures are higher, we have no snow and ice, but there is a marked increase in the amount of rain and wind. I’m sure local councils up and down the country will be cursing the long-range weather forecasters who decreed that a repeat of last year’s icy conditions was on the cards. Perhaps these forecasters aren’t good at cards. They deserve a royal flush for getting it so wrong!

Yesterday was a day to catch up. Our postbag was large, the gas was needing replaced, and the cases emptied. Why we took so much to wear to Hull, I can’t imagine. We didn’t wear a quarter of it, and despite leaving much of what we took behind, the car was still full to overflowing on the return trip! We did of course do a WEE bit of shopping while we were there, but then we do!

Catching up will be the order of the day today. If the wind remains calm, we’re heading for the ferry across the Clyde to have lunch with mum and Evan, then we have some shopping to do for the coming week-end, and time to spend with friends.

Before long it’ll be time to ring in 2012, and consider the year that’s been 2011.

Resolutions to come!
