It’s never dull when you’re surrounded by kids! Every minute of every day is a busy one.
Today it was Simone’s turn to have a trip into town, and given that Joan was nursing a bit of a throat, I had the pleasure of her introducing her to one or two shopping outlets that suit her interests, which are incredibly similar to mine. We had a ball!
We visited a sports shop, a music shop, had a delicious early lunch, then headed for the craft shop. We also managed to squeeze in a wee jaunt round Primark for an essential purchase or two.
Our last stop was at Thorntons for some other essentials and a double cone to round off Simone’s day.
Back at base, Simone was off to try out her new guitar book, and Emma grabbed me to help her make more tree decorations. Tom wanted to dance and play and after tea Simone and I got on with her long tunic which we’ve knitted between us over the week. It’s now had a very funky tree sewn on and looks very designery! Given that this is Simone’s first attempt at a garment, it’s quite a triumph!
She plans to save up her weekly pocket money and head for the shops every month. What have I started?
Can’t quite believe that we’ve been here over a week already. Time is flying past.
Excitement is growing. We’re beginning to feel the Christmas spirit rising! And of course the bottles are beginning to make their appearance at more frequent intervals!
Happy Days!!
